The Padilla Selección Taggiasca began as a family bet: in March 2015 the Padilla family planted Taggiasca, an Italian variety from Liguria, on one of their plots in Jaén, the first planting of this variety in Spain. Today that grove gives an extra virgin olive oil far from the usual, in a 500 ml bottle.
The olives are picked in the first days of October and cold-extracted at 22–24 ºC the same day. The result is an intensely green oil with intense green-olive fruitiness and herbal notes, which enters softly on the palate and ends with an elegant aniseed finish. The Padilla Selección Taggiasca is the oil that rewards curiosity.

Spain’s first Taggiasca, grown in Jaén
Aceites Padilla makes extra virgin olive oil in Jaén from its own family groves. Alongside Picual, the province’s leading variety, the family has planted Italian varieties rarely seen in Spain, such as Taggiasca and Carlesca, to offer different profiles with the same care at harvest.
Taggiasca comes from Liguria. The family planted it in March 2015, the first planting of this variety in Spain, and for the Padilla Selección Taggiasca the olives are picked in the first days of October and cold-extracted at 22–24 ºC the same day.
