Az-Azeytun is born in Batea, in the Terra Alta, in the Terres de l’Ebre. Behind it is Abel Maijó, son of a farming family, who learned from his grandfather to work the land, the vines and the olive trees, and studied viticulture before devoting himself to his own oil.

He works the local varieties, such as Arbequina and Oliana, a recent variety that in the Terra Alta gives notes of almond, walnut, artichoke, fennel and tomato. A young oil with character, the kind we like to keep close in Mataró.
