Az-Azeytun Oliana is an extra virgin olive oil from Batea, in the heart of the Terra Alta, made from Oliana, a young variety that still has plenty to say. In a 2 L tin it is the pantry format par excellence: a container that keeps the oil in the dark, just as it likes it.
Behind Az-Azeytun Oliana is Abel Maijó, a countryman raised among vines and olive trees who decided to make his own oil. The result is an extra virgin with character, green and fruity with a light bitterness, that deserves a container worthy of keeping it fresh.

From Batea, in the Terra Alta
Az-Azeytun was born in Batea, in the Terra Alta district of the Terres de l’Ebre. Abel Maijó comes from a farming family: he learned from his grandfather to work the land, the vines and the olive trees, and studied viticulture before devoting himself to his own oil.
It is a young oil made from the area’s own varieties and obtained directly from the olives solely by mechanical means. Oliana, a recent variety grown in the Terra Alta, signs the character of Az-Azeytun Oliana.
Where Az-Azeytun Oliana shines

- Rice dishes and spoon stews, added at the end of cooking.
- Mediterranean fish, grilled or baked.
Az-Azeytun Oliana in a 2 L tin

The tin shields the oil completely from light, which is welcome in a pantry where the container waits for weeks. It is the format for always having a reserve ready without taking up too much space.
It is best to refill a daily cruet from it and keep the tin tightly closed. Store it in a cool place, away from the heat of the stove.
