Tasting Terraverne Oliznaga Coupage
Oliznaga is Terraverne’s range for everyday cooking: a blend of Hojiblanca, Picual and Arbequina pressed in November, with notes of green almond, fruit and tomato leaf and a noticeable bitterness and pepperiness.
It is a balanced, versatile oil that handles heat well and stays pleasant raw. Not so mild that it goes unnoticed, nor so intense that it takes over: just right for everything.
The blend of three varieties gives a round, very easy-to-use profile with the freshness of the Málaga hills.
Terraverne, Teba
Terraverne makes its oils in Teba, a white village in the north of Málaga province, deep in the hills, where olive trees grow in the shadow of a castle and cool winters give the fruit character.
Oliznaga is Terraverne’s line designed for cooking, more affordable than the early-harvest 555 range but made at the same Teba mill with the same attention.
How to enjoy Terraverne Oliznaga Coupage
- Toast and salads.
- Sautéed vegetables.
- Stews.
- Sofritos.
The producer suggests it for toast and salads, for finishing vegetables and for cooking stews. A tomato and onion sofrito, stewed potatoes or sautéed green beans all turn out better with an oil like this.
Terraverne Oliznaga Coupage: the 1 L bottle

The one-litre bottle is the classic cooking format, easy to use beside the stove. It is best kept tightly closed and away from the heat of the oven.
For heavier use, there are cases of 12 × 500 ml and 15 × 1 L.
It is the kind of oil that lives on the worktop next to the salt and paprika and gets used without thinking several times a day. A litre of Oliznaga lasts just long enough to enjoy it always fresh and to realise how much everyday cooking improves with a genuine extra virgin. Fried eggs, a quick tomato sauce or a simple salad all taste noticeably better.
